Dell Battery Help?
My one year old Dell Latitude D830 battery indicator light keeps blinking orange 4 times then green. It wont operate unless it is plugged in, otherwise it turns off when it is unplugged. The battery that came with the laptop got beat up and eventually wouldnt even power up, so I got a new one, and since I have gotten it, it has not charged my computer. The battery is a Dell battery and compatible with my laptop. I do not believe the problem to be the battery. What could be the problem? Thanks 
Problem Solved. I simply slid out the battery, dusted it off and put it back in. Restarted computer. Everything works fine.
Check out the charger. Make sure plug is securely insertedd. If you have way of checking output voltage of charage check to see i fit is charging voltage battery needs.
Does the computer work when the charger is connected and battery in or out?
